5 Simple Weekend DIY Project Ideas

Need a fun, simple weekend DIY project idea? Today I’m sharing my 5 favorite simple DIYS we’ve done here at our old farmhouse.

Saving money has always been my thing. For as long as I can remember I’ve seen furniture or décor and thought, “I could do that…”. So, I go home and I try it. Most of the time, I can totally pull it off. I’ll be the first to admit my husband has had to bail me out of a project gone bad a time or two. For the most part, these 5 simple weekend DIY projects are all things I’ve done by myself. If I can do it, I KNOW YOU CAN!

Add crown molding

We added simple farmhouse inspired crown molding to our second bathroom not very long ago, and I am floored by how much it transformed that space! It added so much charm and character. The best part was it was super simple and fairly inexpensive. I love how it looks so much that I’m even considering adding some to our living room. We were able to finish the whole second bathroom in one afternoon. That makes it the perfect weekend DIY project!

Paint a Room

The amazing power of a paint. It’s such an inexpensive way to totally transform a whole room. Sometimes I just feel the need to give things a little facelift, and a gallon of paint is the best way to do that. You could probably paint two or three rooms in a weekend, but don’t be like me and pile your plate TOO full. 😉

Add some Board and Batten

Board and batten is one of the easiest ways to add tons of character to your home. Whether you add it to one wall, half a wall, or your whole house, it will bring your space to life. We’ve added board and batten to our foyer, our family room, and most recently our second bathroom. It’s a very easy project, and each space has only taken us a few hours to complete. Definitely a perfect weekend DIY project.

Create an Accent Wall

Create a focal point in any room by making an accent wall. You can do this with something like board and batten, wallpaper, OR you could do a fun stencil or DIY sharpie shiplap type thing. Either way, most accent walls will only take a few hours from start to finish, and only require a few supplies.

Paint interior doors

I didn’t think this would make that much of an impact, but I was WRONG. It took me a couple of hours total to paint both doors in our bedroom, and wow. So much change. I loved it so much I painted a couple more interior doors. Such a super simple weekend DIY project.

Are you planning to DIY this weekend? I’m hoping to finish up my second bathroom project so I can move on to bigger and better things…or just more DIY projects!

As always, thanks so much for spending a tiny part of your day with me. Talk soon!
