How to Make Simple Mini Christmas Wreaths

Today I am sharing how I made these simple DIY mini Christmas wreaths. So simple, so charming, and SO easy to make!

I absolutely love to see little wreaths on kitchen cabinet doors. There’s just something so sweet and charming about it, I think. When I was walking through the craft aisle I saw this little boxwood garland, and had a light bulb moment. I knew it would make perfect mini Christmas wreaths.

What I used:

  • Boxwood Garland by Hampton Home (I picked mine up at Walmart, but Hobby Lobby has this kind.)
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • packing tape, push pins, or command hooks

How I did it:

  • Since this garland is basically little paper leaves on wire it was super easy to work with. I essentially decided on the size I wanted the mini wreaths to be, and cut the wire garland to length.
  • Once they were cut, I took the cut ends and folded them over the little wreath to keep it all together.
  • After I made all the wreaths it was time to hang them! This is also super simple. I decided where I wanted the wreath to hang on the cabinet door, and cut the ribbon to length.
  • When the ribbon was cut, and the wreath was where I wanted it, I simply taped the ribbon to the backside of the cabinet door. There are a few ways you could attach the ribbon, but I decided to use good old packing tape. It comes off easily when I’m done with it, and doesn’t leave a mess. You could also use a pushpin to secure the ribbon to the door. I’ve also seen people use command hooks. Either are good options, but, you know, I’m cheap…errr, frugal. I didn’t have 9 extra command hooks, but packing tape…You betcha.

I am so pleased with how these little wreaths turned out. They added the perfect amount of charm to the kitchen. It was exactly what it needed to add some Christmas spirit. I love how simple projects like this make such a big impact.

I’ve kept things pretty simple this Christmas, and I’m hoping to share a tour of our house all gussied up for holidays. I did sort through my decorations recently, and got rid of more than half of them. I’m a real softy for the glowing lights of a tree, so I did keep all of them. There are a total of 7 in the house to be exact. There’s just nothing more cozy than a cup of hot tea, a good book, and the flowing lights of a Christmas tree.
