Don’t be intimidated by making your own all natural, all purpose cleaner! A natural home doesn’t include harsh chemicals, or a large list of ingredients, many of which you can’t pronounce. Some of my very favorite cleaners (and food) have very limited ingredients. This is one of them!
I use this all purpose cleaner for EVERYTHING…Sticky floors, sticky table tops, sticky cabinets, sticky appliances…If it’s sticky, it gets cleaned with this. Let’s face it, with a farm AND a baby who gets into absolutely. everything. things get sticky. More often than I care to admit. It works like a charm on my laminate countertops, too. (I can’t speak for how it would do on granite or marble since I don’t have them in my home.)
What you’ll need for your all purpose cleaner…
- Water, I like to use purified water
- Liquid Castile Soap, I like to use Dr. Bonner’s
- Essential oils of choice, I use this tea tree oil from Plant Therapy
- Spray bottle, I love these amber colored ones, and these clear glass!
My favorite essential oils to use in all natural cleaners…
- Lavender – it is antiseptic, antiviral, and a fungicidal. Plus, the aroma is relaxing to the nervous system.
- Lemon – antiseptic, antimicrobial, and mood elevating.
- Peppermint – antiseptic and energizing (it’s my favorite, too)
- Sweet Orange – antifungal, antibacterial, and uplifting
- Tea Tree – antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, bactericidal, insecticidal. I love to combine this one with orange or lavender.
If you’re brand new to essential oils, or you’d like to learn more, I would suggest you go check out Dr. Axe’s website. It is such a fantastic resource for learning about the benefits of essentials oils, and how to use them safely.
You can see from the pictures above why I love this cleaner so much! All I have to do is spray, and wipe. I don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals or their effects on our health. I love that so much…especially with a baby who puts her mouth on everything.

As always, thanks so much for spending a small part of your day with me!
I have quartz countertops. Anxious to see how it cleans them.
Let me know!! I have a granite sink, and it works fine on it.
