4 Tips for Simple Spring Décor
- Bring on the green! Whether it be real or faux, now is the time to break out those green wreaths, plants, and décor. It is officially the season of growth, and I am here for it. I try to add little pops of greenery to every room, and I’m always amazed at the life it brings to a space. I’ve been eyeing this wreath for a while now. I think it would be the perfect addition to spring décor.
Quick tip for making your faux greenery look more life like, mix it in with the real stuff. Either by adding a few faux greenery stems to your fresh flowers, or by adding a few faux potted plants in the room with the real ones.
- Swap out the pillow covers! Y’all know I love pillow covers. They are so much more affordable than buying new throw pillows, and they are MUCH easier to store. I’ve recently been pursuing minimalism, and pairing down all of our belongings. I bought a few of the vacuum storage bags, and put all the extra pillow covers in it. It is such a space saver. A few of my favorite places to get pillow covers is Hobby Lobby, Amazon, and H&M Home. I love all of these – Check them out! Quick tip for pillow covers: If you have small children or pets make sure the covers are machine washable!
- Bring out the vase, and fill it up! Adding fresh (or faux) flowers to a space is a sure fire way to bring spring in instantly. It’s extra “springy” to me to use a galvanized “planter”. I’ve seen such cute ideas like metal colanders with a liner, an old metal bucket, and even the big vegetable tins. Get creative! An even bigger bonus would be reusing a tin can, and snipping some daffodils blooms from the backyard! Yay for free! I personally love nothing more than a vase full of peonies. Since they’re not in bloom here until April or May, I invested in some very convincing faux peonies, and LOVE THEM. They bring in so much spring, and it makes me happy to see them on the table. (This bouquet of faux peonies isn’t the same as mine, but very similar. It has great reviews, too!)
- FREE Spring Prints! You all know how I love to swap out prints, and there’s really no easier way to change the décor in a room. I’ve created three spring prints for you all to enjoy, and you can get them FOR FREE in my Member’s Only Library. If you haven’t joined my simple living community, now’s the time to do that. Spring is such an exciting time of year.
I love the excitement of new life springing up out of the ground, I love the anticipation of planting the garden, and I love the arrival of little baby farm animals. I also love being able to open the windows, let the fresh breeze in, and give the house a good cleaning. Now is the perfect time to freshen up the throw blankets, wash the curtains and slip covers (I have a tutorial here on how I wash my IKEA slip covers), and give the whole house a fresh look.
I’d love to hear if you’ve started adding some spring time happiness into your home. Tell me below! As always, thanks so much for spending a tiny bit of your day with me!
I just got a few sticks and fake flowers to add to a couple pots on my entrance table.
