Salvation is the single most important thing you will ever do with your life. Jesus made a way to spend eternity with Him in Heaven. He wants everyone to know how to be saved. The good news is salvation is simple!
How to be saved
- Acknowledge your sin. We are all born sinners. What is sin? In short, sin is the bad things we do. Sin separates us from God. God is perfect and cannot sin. The Bible tells us that, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
- Believe on The Savior. After you’ve recognized that your sin separates you from God, you must believe that God’s son, Jesus, willingly came to earth to live as a man, and died on the cross for your sins. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of His life, so we have a way to Heaven. Since Jesus is perfect, He is the perfect payment for us! The Bible says in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” It also says in Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Jesus didn’t stay dead! He arose on the third day victorious over death, hell, and the grave.
- Call Upon Him. Once you’ve realized you’re a sinner, and believed that Jesus, God’s Son, came to earth and willingly died on the cross for you, you must confess your sin of unbelief to God in a simple prayer. Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Below is a simple prayer that you can repeat if you’re ready to accept Jesus in your life. It doesn’t matter if you say this prayer perfectly, or even if you say this prayer at all. The only thing that matters is that you mean whatever you say to God with your whole heart.
Dear God, I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sin; please forgive me. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sins, and You raised Him to life. I want to invite Him into my heart to take control of my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
If you prayed this simple prayer, and accepted Jesus as your Savior, the next step is to find a good church in your area. Be sure to speak with the pastor and tell him about your new commitment to Christ. Ask questions and read the Bible as often as you can.
As always, I’m here for you, and I’m praying for you!
