Farmhouse Master Bathroom Refresh – Part 1 The Inspiration

Hello, hello! This is a post I have wanted to write for a long time. I FINALLY started working on giving our master bathroom a little refresh. I can’t wait to share my inspiration with you!

We decided when we started Eli’s bathroom that we would not do anything to ours until his was finished. That was supposed to motivate us to get his done quickly, but…it’s been three and a half years and it STILL isn’t completely done. We are so close though, and since we’re SO close I decided I could at least paint our bathroom…right?

What’s wrong with the way it is?

There’s really nothing wrong with our bathroom, per say. It just doesn’t function exactly the way we’d like it to. I’m dreaming and scheming of a way to get double sinks in there. I’ve thought about repurposing a dresser as a vanity, buying one (which is a very expensive option since it’s more of an unusual size), and even building one. I still can’t make my mind up which route is the best to go, but I did decide on a paint color….You already know what it is…white, with creamy white accents. 🙂

As it is now, the bathroom is painted a very cool gray that is almost a blue, and the cabinets are very bright white. I’d like to warm the space up a little bit with a warmer creamy white, and accent color.

The Inspiration Picture

A friend sent me a Pinterest image one day. Ever since I knew it was the colors I wanted to incorporate when I started the master bathroom refresh. Classic, clean, and cozy. All the “c’s” I go for in my home.

Our home was basically voided of all original character when they updated in the 80s. I am so thankful the house has been well cared for, but I also feel like it needs some character brought back in. We have ordered a fun wall stencil for our bathroom walls. I can not WAIT to get it done! I plan to paint the walls white, and do the stencil a very subtle creamy white. It won’t be a huge contrast, but just enough to give this bland space some character.

I plan to continue the Ashen Tan from the Foyer into the hallway leading to our bathroom. I’ve considered even painting the existing vanity with it until I can get one with double sinks. Decisions, decisions…I love these kinds of decisions…

For now, I’ll be a busy bee doing something fun to the walls, and looking for a vintage mirror. I can’t wait to share the progress with you guys!!

As always, thanks so much for spending a tiny part of your day with me!
