Simple Cottage Inspired Bathroom Design Board + Bathroom Refresh Update
Come see my new inspiration for our second bathroom refresh with this cottage inspired design board. I can’t wait to share what I’ve got planned!
Last week I shared a modern farmhouse bathroom mood board. While I still really love that idea, the more I thought about it in our home the more I realized it really just didn’t fit. I love modern farmhouse. I’ve realized that our home, and my style, is more cottage inspired. Cozy textiles, worn wood, lots of green, and a relaxed, lived in atmosphere. Sounds perfect doesn’t it? I went back to the drawing board and came up with this cottage inspired design board for our second bathroom.

The only big changes I’m making to my overall plan is the paint color, and the shower curtain. Most things stay the same. I still plan to do the board and batten on the bottom half of the wall in a crisp, bright white. I’m trying to decided between a few different shades of sage green paint for the top half. I’m really hoping to share the color I choose next week…along with some progress!!
This is the current state of the second bathroom. I got the top rail for the board and batten up, and the bottom half painted. I hope to get the boards cut and hung next week. It should be a quick and easy job. I’m usually wrong though. Ha!
As you see I already have the rug in the design board picture. I actually have two. I ordered them for the kitchen months ago. They never fit just right. However, they are perfect in the second bathroom. They’ve got a touch of a slate blue which is the accent color I hope to incorporate.
I plan to add vintage prints, a live plant, and some cozy texture to round the room out.

Overall I think it should be an easy refresh, and make a big impact. Have you been DIYing lately? I’d love to hear about it. I’d also like to know if you would choose the modern farmhouse or the cottage inspired for your home. Tell me below!
