With Labor Day behind us I know most of us are thinking about fall, and all the fun that comes along with it. For most of us, it includes decorating in some capacity. Maybe you’re just a tiny bit overwhelmed with where to start, or, like me, you hate the thought of dragging tons of décor out just to put it back up in a few short weeks. I thought I’d share a few easy ways I like to add simple fall touches through out our home…without dragging out all of the stuff.

Last year I went with traditional fall colors. Warm oranges, and rich yellows filled our home, and I loved it. I didn’t buy anything new, but just by switching out a few small things it totally transformed the atmosphere.

1. Pillow Covers & Throws

The easiest thing for me to change that makes the biggest impact is pillow covers. Never underestimate the power of a pillow! Last year I simply swapped my neutral summer pillow covers out for some orange, and plaid. Easy enough, and the change was tangible. If you’ve never tried pillow covers, I would certainly encourage you to. It is so much more affordable than buying new pillows, and there are literally hundreds of options. I usually buy most of mine on Amazon, but Etsy has lots of cute options too!

If you don’t want to invest in new pillow covers, pull out those cozy throws and toss them on the arm of the chair, or sofa. It adds tons of coziness without being complicated.

2. Bring Nature In

Whether they be fresh or faux, adding some sticks, leaves and greenery is a sure way to add some seasonal charm. The stems in the photo above are actually some I found at Dollar Tree a few years ago. I love to add some sticks I cut from various bushes and trees around our property, too. It’s simple, but changes so much.

You can find so many very convincing faux options online if you don’t have a yard full of bushes, and trees. I like to add a little faux and a little real to keep things interesting. 😉

3. Add a Candle

I can not tell you ho much I love walking into a room that smells like fresh baked apple pie, or a freshly baked pumpkin dessert…without the work of having to bake. Ahh, the magic of a fall scented candle. I also love how the flicker of a flame can add so much charm. Instant coziness.

Again, Etsy has SO. MANY. CANDLES. I love to order candles off of Etsy because, not only are you getting coziness delivered to your door, but you’re helping support a small business…A double win!

The White Cottage Company’s Etsy shop is where I like to purchase my soy candles. SO many great scents to choose from. I think my next one will be the coffee scented one for sure!

4. Swap Out Dish Towels

Another super easy way to change up the mood in your kitchen is to simply swap out dish towels. I ordered these striped towels a few years ago, and love the pop of color in my all white kitchen. I also love to use things that I can keep out all the way from fall to Christmas, Hello Red Dish Towel!

One of my favorite sources for affordable, stylish dish towels is discount stores like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They usually have a really great selection in store, and online. You can find so many really cute seasonal options, too!

5. Add a Wreath

Another super simple idea that adds so much to a space is adding a wreath. I love hanging wreaths all over our home. This one was an inexpensive grapevine wreath that I added Dollar Tree garland to. I love to hang a wreath in a window, or on a blank wall. They’re instant fall coziness, and I love adding little pops of color throughout the house!

These are just a few of the simple ways I like to bring a little bit of fall color into our home, without putting pumpkins everywhere…That comes a little later around here. 😉 While I haven’t decorated for fall quite yet, I’ve been brainstorming, and coming up with some fun ideas that I hope to share with you soon!

I’d love to know if you’ve started decorating for fall yet, or if you’re clinging a little longer to summer like me.

Have a great day, guys! As always, thanks for stopping by.
