We got a new roof!

Today is an exciting day around here! After getting a pretty bad diagnosis on our roof last spring (and several leaking spots upstairs!), we were FINALLY able to get it replaced. I am so excited about it! Funny how a new roof as an adult is better than Christmas morning as a kid. 🙂

The roof was replaced sometime in the early 2000s. It was dark green architectural shingles, and the shutters matched. When we started pricing things out, we decided that for the price per square foot, and the warranty, to go ahead with metal roofing. YOU GUYS! I am so glad that we did!! We went from dark green to black, and I love it so much. It’s made such a huge difference. Nick keeps saying the whole place got a facelift, and it truly did.

We painted the shutters black to match the roof for now. I have visions of beautiful hand crafter wooden shutters adorning the windows one of these days. For now though, they’re painted, and it’s much better to have everything cohesive. Also, I was lazy and didn’t want to be creative with coordinating colors. 🙂

We still have a few things to do before I can officially say it’s finished, but so far, I am so pleased with the way it’s turning out. I’d like to get the “skirting” around the house replaced one of these days. For now, I’m sure I’ll just paint it. I’ve also got to paint a chicken coop, an outbuilding, a front porch…

I am so thankful for this little place in the mountains we get to call home. I’m also so thankful that the Lord has blessed us abundantly, and allows us to be stewards of what He has given us. Isn’t He just SO good?!

What are you thankful for today? I’d love to hear all about it!

As always, thanks so much for spending part of your day with me. I appreciate you all!
