Weekend Foyer Refresh & A SURPRISE!

Happy Tuesday, guys! Over the weekend I was able to do a quick foyer refresh by changing the paint colors. If you remember, the foyer used to be a light gray on top, and the board and batten was white. I did a little switch-a-roo, and I love the way it turned out.

GUESS WHAT ELSE I DID!? That’s right…I started a YouTube channel! I thought it would be fun to regularly incorporate video into my blog posts, and YouTube is the easiest way to do that. I’m not very good at it yet, but hopefully with time, I’ll get better.

After!!

I really love the way this turned out. I have an old book of Early American Homes and was immediately drawn to the bottom half of the wall being the darker color. It added so much more character to the board and batten. Who knew I’d like another color besides white? haha Painting the door was a MAJOR improvement too. I don’t think the back of it had ever been painted, and it had seen better days, to be sure.

I used Behr paint in Ashen Tan for the board and batten, and some Color Place Ultra White I had on hand for the top. I actually ordered the Behr paint from Home Depot, and had it shipped to the house. It was SO EASY! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve said I wish I could have paint shipped to the house…This basically made my dreams come true. I’m a simple girl! ha!

I simplified the decor on and above the piano quite a bit, and I love it so much more…More style, less stuff as Myquillyn Smith says. If you haven’t checked out her books, I’d definitely encourage you to. I recently read her book “Cozy Minimalist Home” and it inspired me to simplify my decor even more than it already was.

Another one of my favorite additions to the space above the piano is this print from Andrea over at Pine and Prospect Home. She is SO talented, and has so many really great prints to choose from. While you’re over there checking out her amazing prints be sure to sign up for blog updates from her. She is one of my favorite blogs to follow. She’s always so inspiring, and has such a sweet spirit.

I hope you enjoyed this little makeover, and I am so thankful you stopped by to spend a little of your day with me! As always, thanks so much!
